Mumbo Island is so hidden and just gives you space to breath. The island is located offshore of Cape Maclear. The island has no electricity but phones can be charged on solar batteries. The chalets have the perfect views of sunrises and sunsets. And you get to marvel at the beauty of Lake Malawi. A sunset cruise is a must!
7. Arts of Kongoni and Chongoni
Summer is also a great time to learn about different cultures. Kungoni Cultural Centre is one of the best places to learn about the Chewa, Ngoni and Yao tribes. And when done, drive up to Dedza Pottery for some much needed cheese cake before proceeding to Chongoni. Although I would advise to start with a hike at Chingoni to see the Kafula and Chewa drawings in the caves. Then spending a night at Kungoni.
